BATHERY: The activists of Muslim youth league have set a great example of secularism by coming forward on Sunday to clean a Sri Ram temple in Wayanad which got affected by the flood. Earlier, the premises of the temple had got submerged in water.

As soon as the rainwater receded from the temple, the youth league activists approached the temple authorities to clean the temple. They started cleaning once the authorities gave permission. Around 30 members participated in the cleaning activities.

The cleaning activities lasted for several hours. According to them, cleaning the temple premises was a tough job as it was filled with remains of trees, wastes and mud which were brought in as the Ponkuzhy river overflowed. After removing mud and other wastes, they washed and cleaned the entire temple. Several parts of the temple got damaged after it remained submerged in water for days.
