THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Police Chief Loknath Behera has said 19 cases have been registered against persons propagating fake messages or news related to flood rescue operations, through social media.

Cyber Cell, Cyberdom and hi-tech cell have started a detailed investigation into the cases registered.

“Those who spread false or fake news will be arrested and legal action will be initiated against them,” Behera informed.
