THIRUVANANTHAPUAM: The government is planning to appoint a person arraigned by the CBI in a corruption case as the MD of consumerfed. The vigilance had found corruption worth Rs 1000 crore against him. The government is planning to appoint K A Ratheesh as the MD of consumerfed. Ratheesh was expelled by the UDF Government from the managing director post of Cashew Development Corporation. He came first soon after the interview.
He was expelled from the post of Cashew Development Corporation after arraigned in many corruption cases. The LDF which came soon after removed him from all posts. However, he was appointed as the executive director of Kerala Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (KIED).
Consumer Fed is a company with a turnover of over Rs 3,000 crore. The government had shortlisted 15 considered for the chief’s post. An interview was held with five from it. Apart from Ratheesh, the rest of the four has a good track record. But Ratheesh came first after the interview.
There were many vigilance cases against him while he was serving as Cashew Development Corporation. He got a clean chit when the LDF came to power. He still continues as accused in the CBI case.
Ratheesh had worked as managing director for 11 years during the tenure of three governments. He is facing a CBI probe in corruption cases worth 500 crore.
