KOCHI: CPI Ernakulam district secretary P Raju was denied passport as he did not get a clearance from the police. He was booked for non-bailable charges in connection with the CPI march in Ernakulam. Following this, police denied clearance.
He applied for the passport to attend the international conference to be held in Damascus. The clearance was denied when he applied to renew his existing passport which had expired. Police clearance was denied this time.
The march staged to the range IG’s office in Kochi ended in a clash. Many including police officials were injured in the attack. A case was registered after imposing non bailable provisions against many including P Raju and Eldo Abraham MLA.
