KAYAMKULAM: A bridegroom was murdered in front a bar where he went to buy liquor on Wednesday night after he had run out of the stock during a bachelor’s party ahead of his marriage.

When he and his team reached the bar, another gang was drinking liquor, sitting inside a car. He and his friends picked a quarrel with the gang inside the car. In the drunken brawl that unused, a youth in the gang took a beer bottle and smashed his head. After that he ran his car over him and killed him on the spot.

The dead has been identified as Kareelakulangara Karuvattumkuzhy Thajuddin’s son Shameer Khan (25). Police have arrested Kannamballi native Shiyaz (21) in this connection. The hunt is also on for his two friends.

The incident happened around 12 am on the service road at the north side of Kayamkulam highway palace bar. The deceased person, Shameer Khan, had come on leave from Saudi just three weeks ago. His marriage was supposed to have taken place on September 8.
