CHENNAI: Two youths belonging to an IT company were arrested in Chennai for stealing police's wireless set and passing false messages. Police arrested Varunraj and Ajith, who got drunk before stealing the wireless set that belonged to the patroling group.

According to police, the two men and got drunk while attending a night party. On their way back, they were stopped by the patrolling police. After finding out that both were drunk, the police took them to the police station. During the journey to the police station, the youths secretly got hold of the wireless set and passed a message saying that they were being taken into custody without any valid reason. Soon, control room officials contacted the police station following which the wireless set was found out from them. It is learnt that both have obtained bail after accepting that they stole the wireless set under the effect of alcohol.
