‘Adharvam’ is a Mammootty starrer directed by Dennis Joseph. The movie which told the story of revenge and black magic was released in the year 1989. Erotic actress Silk Smitha came as the female lead destroying all the stereotypes moviegoers had about her till then.

Even though the story was narrated to her, Smitha was not told about the importance of her character. She never believed that she was the heroine of Mammootty and thought that the movie would be just like any she did before.

“When Silk Smitha came to act in Adharvam, she thought that the movie would be just like any she did before. Even after being briefed about the story, she didn’t take it seriously. She didn’t believe that she was the heroine of Mammootty and there aren’t any erotic scenes. She did her make up just like other movies.

I felt weird. I asked her to remove the make-up. She was told that the make-up will be done by M.O. Devassya for which she agreed. She synced with the movie, style, and character within two days. Silk Smitha is one of the most intelligent women I have seen in cinema. She is an innocent woman who behaved nicely with everyone on the set”.
