SRINAGAR: With the removal of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the state flag has been removed from its Civil Secretariat in Srinagar. Authorities have also hoisted the national flag in place of the state flag.
Though the state flag was removed from several government offices in the state soon after the Kashmir bill, it had continued to appear on top of the Civil Secretariat. However, a recent official demand from the central authorities forced the officials to replace the state flag with the tricolour flag. It must be noted that the state will no longer have an official flag as its special status was revoked by the Parliament earlier this month.
Official sources said that those government offices who haven't taken off the state flag so far have been asked to remove it as soon as possible.
