THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Soon after senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had asked party members to stop criticizing PM Modi unnecessarily, Congress' Kerala leadership has found itself in a dilemma as its leaders began criticizing each other for praising Modi.

It was Shashi Tharoor who came up first saying that he agrees to Jairam Ramesh's statement that Congress should refrain from raising unnecessary criticisms against the PM. However, this did not go down well with opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala. He soon said that no matter what others say, Congress would raise its voice against the wrongdoings of Modi. According to him, there is no need to defend the Prime Minister just because he did a good thing among hundreds of wrongdoings. The working style and principles of the Modi government has been contrary to the country's interest and this must be criticized, he added.

Shashi Tharoor soon came up asking Chennithala not to teach him about such matters. 'Though I oppose BJP and Modi more than anyone else, I believe that what Jairam Ramesh said is correct. We should praise another if we see anything good, otherwise people will lose their faith in us," he said. He also added that he is not intending to move to the BJP just because he praises Modi.
