KOTTARAKKARA: A middle aged man was tied to a tree and brutally beaten up by three including his son. The victim identified as Babu (47) of Kottarakkara has been admitted at a hospital in Kottarakkara. The incident happened Sunday evening. A case has been registered against the three including his son.

Babu, estranged from his wife reached her house to see his daughter. Soon his son Arun (20), his friend Vishnu and father-in-law Purushothaman (70) tied him up to a tree and beat him cruelly. The locals soon rushed him to Kottarakkara taluk hospital. There is a swelling on both the lower portion of his eyes. The Kottarakkara police has registered a case and a probe has started. However, his wife and others told police that he came in an inebriated condition, fell down and sustained injuries.
