PALA: Election Padmarajan is someone who is never tired of trying. Known as ‘Election King’ K Padmarajan’s name figures in the Limca Book of World Records as the most unsuccessful candidate in elections. Now he is all set to try his hands in the Pala by-polls, one which Kerala is looking up.

Dr K Padmarajan is a native of Melurdam in Salem. He had contested against Narasimha Rao, Vajpayee, Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi and had created a history and had never won a single election. He has a history of contesting against five presidents. He last contested against Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad and secured 1858 votes. This is the first time he is contesting bypolls in Kerala. He decided to face the bypolls as it is one eagerly looked upon. He reached Pala this morning to submit his nomination papers.

This would be his 205th election facing. He feels that losing all the previous 204 elections to prominent leaders as a big achievement. He first fought against M Shreerangan at Salem in 1988. He later stood against noted personalities in all polls. Padmarajan, a homeo doctor hails from Kunjimangalam from Kannur. He now resides in Salem. He has named his house ‘Election.’

Sheeja Nambiar is his wife. His only son Shrijesh Padmarajan is an MBA graduate. In the coming days, he will be campaigning in all villages of Pala constituency.
