NEW DELHI: The Border Security Force (BSF) has started an investigation against an IAF pilot who faked his identity in order to fly the aircraft of Home Minister Amit Shah. The pilot has been identified as Wing Commander (retd) JS Sangwan who was a hero in the Kargil war.

According to sources, Sangwan had allegedly created a fake email id in the name of a senior official at the BSF and sent several emails to Larsen and Toubro (L&T) recommending his name to fly the company's aircraft which flies the Home Minister. It is usually the L&T that provides aircrafts to the BSF to fly VIPs.

Sources say that Sangwan was caught soon after L&T gave him permission to fly the aircraft. Initial reports suggest that Sangwan does not possess the necessary qualifications in order to fly VIP aircrafts. While the reason behind Sangwan faking mail id remains unclear, authorities at the BSF have started an investigation.
