THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A main witness in the Abhaya murder case has revealed that on the day of sister Abhaya’s murder, he had seen two persons climbing up the stairs and going to the convent.
The decisive statement was given in the court by Raju Alias aka Adakka Raju.
“The Crime Branch had decided to sabotage the Abhaya Case in the initial phase. When I was called for questioning, the Crime Branch had asked me to take the responsibility of the crime. I was also offered Rs Two lakh for that. They said the money will be delivered at my house,” Raju revealed, during his hearing at the CBI’s special court in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
“Of the two persons who climbed the stairs to the convent, one was Thomas Kottur, and I’m sure about it,” he said.
He also identified Kottur, who was in the court.
Raju’s statement is very crucial, given the fact that two main witnesses turned hostile the other day during the trial.
