KOCHI: A woman, who lodged a fake sexual abuse complaint against a man for not giving her money she demanded from him, finally faced the music from Women’s Commission on Thursday.

In the fake complaint, the woman had alleged that the male friend had sexually harassed her. But in the inquiry conducted by Kerala Women’s Commission, it found out that the complaint was fake and she was telling lies.

The woman turned up with the complaint on Thursday at the Collectorate Conference hall where the adalat was going on. In the cross questioning, it became clear that it was her ploy to extort money from the man.

On the other hand, it was revealed that the man had been in a relationship with the woman for some time. She exploited the relationship and demanded money from him several times.

But soon the man understood the intention of the woman to cheat him out of money. When he rejected the demand, she went and lodged the fake complaint out vengeance.

Kerala Women’s Commission Chairperson M C Josephine, who came to understand about the truth, reprimanded the woman and sent her back, saying, “harassing men by lodging fake complaints can never be accepted”.
