KOCHI: Justice S Manikumar, senior judge in the Madras High Court, has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of Kerala High Court. He was named the chief justice as present Hrishikesh Roy has been promoted to the Supreme Court.
Justice Manikumar, who has also served as Assistant Solicitor General, became additional judge in the Madras High Court in 2006. Apart from Kerala, new chief justices have been named in several other High courts such as Gujarat(Justice Vikram Nath), Punjab and Haryana(Justice Ravishankar Jha), Andhra Pradesh(Justice JK Maheshwari), Guwahati(Justice Ajay Lamba), Rajasthan(Justice Indarjith Mohanthi), Himachal Pradesh(Justice L Narayana Swami) and Sikkim(Justice Aroop Kumar Goswami) high courts
