THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There will be hike in the cinema ticket fare from Sunday as the government has issued an order, allowing the local self-governments to levy entertainment tax on customers.

For tickets below Rs 100, the tax will be 5 per cent and for tickets above Rs 100, the tax per cent will be Rs 8.5 per cent.
