pala-by-election

KOTTAYAM: The LDF candidate in Pala bypoll has started his election campaign after submitting his nomination while the UDF is still having a dispute over the candidature. The crisis is due to the difference between the two groups in Kerala Congress-Joseph and Mani groups. Joseph group says that a popular face should be the candidate at Pala. Several sectors of Jose K. Mani group want Nisha Jose K. Mani as the candidate. As Joseph is not ready for any compromise, Jose K. Mani might leave the two-leaf symbol of KC.

Meanwhile, LDF has decided to implement the strategy which was successfully used in Chengannur. The activities would be just the same they would do for a CPI (M) candidate. Three secretariat members have been assigned to the constituency. Vaikkom Viswan, J.J. Thomas and M.M. Mani will organize the activities here while CPI (M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will supervise. The state secretary will also take part in the working committee meeting in Pala. CPI (M) has also decided to see voters in person at least three times.
