kulbhushan-jadhav

ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, Pakistan has offered India consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, former Indian Navy officer and RAW agent who is under Pakistan's custody. Reports suggest that access has been given for two hours on Monday.

It was Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal who revealed that the country will be offering consular access to Jadhav. However, he has not specified any other terms regarding the consular access. "Consular access for Indian spy Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav, a serving Indian naval officer and RAW operative, is being provided on Monday 2 September 2019, in line with Vienna Convention on Consular relations, ICJ judgment & the laws of Pakistan," he tweeted.

Earlier, Pakistan had rejected India's several requests to grant consular access to Jadhav. Following this, it was rebuked by the International Court of Justice for violating the Vienna Convention.
