THRISSUR: Due to a confusion in the name of the bride, a couple who got married at the Sree Krishna Temple in Guruvayur, was not able to register their marriage. The incident happened at Guruvayur municipality. While registering the marriage of a Hindu couple's daughter, the officials got confused on the bride's name. The officials denied permission to register the marriage, alleging the bride’s name as a Christian one.

Christina Embras, daughter of noted journalist late K Jayachandran and Ananda Kanakam, an advocate, got married on August 24. Deepak Raj is the groom. A controversy broke out over the name when the couple reached to register soon after the marriage and the reception. Venu Edakkazhiyur, a social activist of Guruvayur, informed this through a Facebook post.
