THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former CM and Chairman of Administrative Reforms Commission VS Achuthanandan on Thursday accused political leaders including Oommen Chandy of misusing power in order to escape from the Titanium case. Achuthanandan launched an attack against Oommen Chandy through his Facebook page.

According to Achuthanandan, several leaders including Chandy were believed to be involved in the titanium case. However, the vigilance report did not mention any of their names following which the court rejected it and ordered fresh investigations against the leaders. VS also accused the vigilance of helping Oomen Chandy, Ibrahim Kunju and Ramesh Chennithala despite finding evidence against them. Though the then state government had intervened to hand over the case to CBI, they did not get any favourable response, he said.

It must be noted that the post has been made by Achuthanandan at a time when the Vigilance has recommended the case to the CBI. He referred to this suggestion as a turning point. According to him, all corruption cases tend to fade away from people's mind as time goes by and that is when such turning points take place.
