THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Devaswom Board Minister Kadakampally Surendran has denied the reports that the government is readying for framing new laws for Sabarimala including its administrative matters.

“The government has not taken any decision to change the status-quo of Sabarimala. It has not taken any decision to form an authority for the administration of the temple and no affidavit in this regard has been submitted in the Supreme Court,” said the minister, adding that he would
look into the source of the “misleading” news that the government is planning to frame a new law for Sabarimala.

Earlier, there were reports that the government was all set to make new law for Sabarimala including its administrative arrangements. State BJP leadership had also said that the Centre would bring in a special law for the temple including matters related to women’s entry in Sabarimala. But no follow-up was there after that.
