THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Met Department has forecasted heavy rains till Monday due to the low pressure developed at the Odisha coast. There will be showers across the state in the onam days of Uthradam and Thiruvonam.
As per Met Department’s assumption, the state could receive rainfall up to 7cm.
Yellow alert was sounded today in 11 districts. Another yellow alert has been issued in six districts tomorrow-Alappuzha, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
Yellow alert has been sounded in four districts on Sunday. As rains have intensified, shutters of most dams have been opened. All shutters of Banasura Sagar dam has been raised following heavy rain. In Thiruvananthapuram shutters of Neyyar, Aruvikkara and Peppara dams have been opened.
