MALAPPURAM: Muslim League national treasurer and Rajya Sabha MP P V Abdul Wahab on Thursday virtually rebutted the political stand of the party while he hailed the LDF government’s flood relief activities.
Ironically, UDF under the aegis of the Muslim League had organised a day-night strike in front of Malappuram Collectorate, alleging that the Left government’s flood relief activities were a total failure.
Abdul praised the government while taking part in a function organised by the government to distribute financial aid to the dependants of families who died in the Kavalappara landslides.
The MP said that the work done by P V Anwar MLA, minister K T Jaleel and the government’s intervention were commendable. In the day and night strike, League leader P K Kunhalikutty had slammed the government, saying that it was trying to create calamity out of calamity and it had not learnt lessons from last year’s flood.
There was also opposition among youth members in making business man Abdul Wahad the Rajya Sabha member but he managed to get the seat for the second time, as well.
