KOTTAYAM: With only a week left for the Pala by-election, NCP Kottayam district committee is unsettled regarding the candidate. It has been reported that 42 members of the NCP has left the party in the leadership of the national panel member Jacob Puthuppally. The mass resignations were due to dictatorship mentality in the party and candidature of Mani C. Kappan. The resignation letter was handed over to state president Thomas Chandy.
“There is no winning possibility for Mani C. Kappan in Pala. Though not continuing with the party due to ignorance, won’t join any other party. There will be more resignations in the coming days”, Jacob said.
Meanwhile, minister A.K. Saseendran came to the fore with a response to the resignations of NCP activists. He said that nothing will happen in Pala if few people leave the party.
“Some are trying to create an image that there are problems in LDF like UDF. Those who left the party will stay out”, he added.
