THRISSUR: The State Home department has in a reply to a letter has informed that the Wadakkanchery sexual harassment case has been disposed.
According to the home department, the case was closed after the complaint was found to be fake and there was no evidence to substantiate the allegations.
The victim had filed a complaint against Wadakkanchery CPM councillor Jayant. The home department’s reply has come in response to the letter sent by Anil Akkara to chief minister on November 16, 2016, seeking to investigate the case impartially.
Anil Akkara has now reacted that the case had been sabotaged.
The woman’s allegation was that she was sexually abused by Jayanthan and his friends.
The incident happened two years ago and the case attained big media attention after dubbing artiste Bhagyalakshmi held a press conference with the woman by her side. The woman was seen then with her face covered with shawl.
The woman said at that time that the assault on her had taken place two years ago and police were not ready to investigate her complaint.
