EERATTUPETTA: The LDF candidate who won the local body election as Erattupetta municipality chairperson has resigned the post.
It was LDF candidate Lyla Pareet who submitted the resignation to Municipality secretary after the swearing in ceremony.

In the election, the LDF had won 10 votes and UDF, 12 votes.

But, Lyla could win the election because the four-member SDPI party had voted in favour of the LDF.

Though there were two members in Janapaksham, they abstained from voting.

Lyla resigned, following the party decision that the LDF doesn’t need a governance with the support of SDPI. Lyla Pareet had defeated LDF’s V M Siraj.
