THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major boost to Kerala’s industrial development, the central government has decided to extend the Chennai-Bengaluru industrial corridor to Coimbatore and Kochi. The National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation notified the state govt about this. North Kerala will undergo a massive facelift involving big and small businesses.
The corridor project was a result of the state government’s continued effort. The project is under the supervision of the Prime Minister. Ernst and Young prepared the Kerala project.
The districts of Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kannur, Kozhikode and Kasaragod will benefit from the project. The project with a massive scope of employment will have townships and satellite cities. Residential projects, hotels, tourist centres, hospitals, IT parks, colleges and schools are part of this project. Foreign companies will invest in this project.
Airports, Cochin port and industries like coconut, coir, sea products and food products will get a boost. Logistics park, warehouse and cold storage industries will be a part of this project.
