ALAPPUZHA: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan said the CPM should change its style of functioning. Hindu candidates should be fielded in Aroor and Konni where by-polls are held, opined Vellappally. It would be fair to consider the majority community in Aroor, he added. BJP should consider Kummanam in Vattiyoorkavu and should give a chance to K Surendran in Manjeshwaram, he said.

Vellappally said although the CPM has organizational strength, they should change their style of functioning. He lauded LDF’s electioneering in Pala and said Mani C Kappan will win in a small majority. Leaders should treat the people with humility, he said.

Meantime, the BJP has great expectations in Vattiyoorkavu, Manjeswaram and Konni. The general feeling is that in these areas where the party is likely to win, the best candidates should be fielded. All parties had already started campaigning in Manjeswaram in anticipation of by-elections. The leaders of three fronts have high expectations and have begun campaigning in Aroor, he said.
