DUBAI: Two Emirates flights were diverted from Dubai International Airport on Sunday following reports of suspected drone activity near the airport. The two flights are EK511 from Delhi and EK433 from Singapore.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon. The airport was shut down for 15 minutes following the warning of a suspected drone attack. Following this, the Singapore flight was diverted to the Dubai World Central Airport and the Delhi flight was diverted to Sharjah International Airport.
The two flights were later brought to the Dubai International Airport. "Emirates regrets any inconvenience caused but the safety of our passengers and crew is of utmost importance and will not be compromised," the Dubai Airport's spokesperson said.
