PALA: The voters of Pala will turn up in polling booths to decide who’ll lead them after K.M. Mani. As the result in Pala could influence the voters in the five upcoming by-polls, the election here is considered crucial by all the three fronts involved. This is the first time in half a century that Pala will see a ballot paper without K.M. Mani’s name. Another speciality is the UDF candidate is contesting without two-leaf symbol here.
The three political fronts also want to raise the vote share as well. LDF sees this as a matter of pride after the defeat in Lok Sabha election. UDF need to win to prove that their unity hasn’t taken a hit despite disputes within the front. BJP who saw a significant increase in votes cast in their favour in the previous election, wouldn’t want a drop in the vote share. Votes will be counted on September 27.
