HOUSTON: With US President Donald Trump Prime Minister in the audience, Narendra Modi on made a veiled attack on Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at the 'Howdy, Modi' event in Houston.
PM Narendra Modi said the move to revoke provisions under Article 370 bothered only those who "cannot even take care of their own country".
He added that the decision to scrap the provisions under Article 370 bothered the same ones who "shield terrorism and nurture it".
“Pakistan nurtures hate and shields terrorism. The time has come to act against terrorism. Trump stands with this key move”, Modi said.
US President Donald Trump has lavished praise upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Howdy Modi event in Houston. Trump said that Modi is responsible for India's successful march towards progress.
According to Trump, India has achieved great progress under the leadership of Modi. He announced that both the countries would conduct a joint military exercise named 'Tiger Triumph' in November this year. He also added that both India and the USA give great importance to border security. He also took the opportunity to issue a warning against the Islamic terror groups by adding that both countries would work together to protect innocent people from terrorism.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Trump's presence in the event shows the depth of the relationship between India and America. He also expressed his wish that Donald Trump should emerge as the US President for a second time.
