THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sivaranjith and Nissam, the two SFI students of University college who are accused of stabbing their college mate and SFI worker Akhil, have been granted bail in a case.
The bail has been awarded by district principal session court under stringent conditions. They are the first and second accused in the case.
Though they have got bail, Sivaranjith and Nissam would not be able to walk out of jail as there exist robbery case against Sivaranjith for smuggling large bundles of answer sheets out of the university college.
Both are also accused in PSC exam irregularity case. They have not got bail in these cases. The conditions for bail in the first case is Rs 2 lakh deposit and a surety.
Both have been barred from entering the university college or meeting witnesses. They have also been asked to be present before the investigation officers on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Initially, though the police made 30 identifiable persons as accused in the case, later this number shrunk to 18. Till now, the police have arrested 11 accused in the case.
