THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram Mayor VK Prasanth, who will be contesting as CPM Candidate in the upcoming Vattiyoorkavu by-poll, is a very popular figure on social media. Recently, Prasanth opened up about his future plans for the constituency.

According to Prasanth, Vattiyoorkavu constituency has witnessed very little development in recent times. "There is very little development in Vattiyoorkavu. Except for the activities done by the Corporation, the area has not witnessed any improvements. The condition of Vattiyoorkavu junction and roads are pathetic. I will work to sort out all these issues," he said. He also added that he will move forward with his plan to widen the congested roads in Peroorkada as well.

Prasanth also took on those opposition party members who claimed that his relief works during the recent flood time were intended for publicity. He says, "All these allegations are baseless. In fact, we did even better relief work in the previous year. It was the Thiruvananthapuram corporation which set out first to do relief activities at various flood-affected areas such as Ranni, Chengannur and Aranmula. This activity later inspired many political parties to come up with relief activities. This itself is proof that it was not a publicity stunt with the election in mind"

He also expressed hope that the people in Vattiyoorkavu, especially the younger generation, will support him to create history in the upcoming election.
