THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Those who have not linked your Ration card to Aadhaar will have opportunity for that only till September 30, this year.
Those who don’t link their ration card to Aadhaar will be denied ration items.
When the Central government implemented Food Safety Act in 2016, linking the Ration Card to Aadhar became mandatory.
This was done to make sure that ration items reached eligible hands. There is also instruction from the Centre to implement one nation one ration card system from June 30 next year.
Earlier, State Food minister P Thilothaman had commented that people with their names in more than one Ration Card were shying away from linking their cards to Aadhaar.
Currently, Aadhaar and ration cards are linked through E-pos machines installed at ration shops, Akshaya centres and Taluk Supply office.
