PUNALUR: The Thenmala police arrested four jeep drivers for trying to attack women tourists at the Ambanad Waterfalls in Aryankavu panchayat. They were arrested following a complaint of the tourists. The drivers tried to attack them after blocking their car.

Drivers Rahul, Manu, Sajan and Ajeesh Kumar of Kazhuthurutti taxi stand are those arrested. The incident happened Saturday afternoon.

Police said the drivers tried to attack the five-member team including children from Kazhakoottam when they came to visit the waterfalls at Ambanad Isfield Estates.

The team tried to attack them when they refused to go in their jeep to the waterfalls. Following that the drivers tried to stop their car. The drivers followed the tourists, hurled abuses on them and tried to capture their bathing scenes. The tourists after returning lodged a complaint to the DGP. The four were arrested and produced in the court after a probe was conducted.
