THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Administrative Reforms Commission Chairman V S Achuthanandan has said the Kerala government doesn’t have the liability to rehabilitate all occupants of Maradu flats.
“When the government goes ahead with rehabilitation and disbursement of compensations, it should be very alert.
What they should do first is to prepare the correct list of families eligible for rehabilitation. The government doesn’t have the obligation to rehabilitate families those who already have buildings to reside.
Not only that, the government already has another list of people needing rehabilitation due to various other reasons. If government gives Maradu flat owners better options or preferences, that would send a bad message to society,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
