LUCKNOW: A district court here on Monday dismissed the bail pleas of BJP leader Chinmayanand and the law student who accused him of rape. Though arrested on the petition by the complainant girl, bail plea was submitted by Chinamayanand, who is currently staying in a hospital citing health issues.

While the BJP leader has been booked on sexual assault charges, the complainant has been arrested for alleged extortion. Chinmayanand, though arrested, was not booked for rape.

The complainant law student was arrested on the petition of Chinmayanand. The investigation team said that the woman admitted the accusations against her.
