VITHURA: Lovers who went missing five days before were found hanging here in a rented house. Arafath (26), son of Abdul Azeez and Fadeela, and Shiyana (16), daughter of Shiju and Sheeja from Mottamoodu, are the deceased. The couple were missing from September 25.

According to the police, Arafath and Shiyana were in a relationship for two years. Last year, Arafath called out Shiyana from her house and took her with him. Subsequently, the couple were caught from Kulathupuzha in Kollam. Arafath was imprisoned for three months under the POCSO Act. Shiyana went with her relatives.

After getting out of jail, Arafath’s relationship with Shiyana grew even stronger. The relatives filed a petition with the police after the couple went missing. The police reached the spot where dead bodies were hanging much before but the door was locked. Arafath’s phone was switched off.

On Monday morning, the neighbours informed the police about a foul odour coming out of this house. The police reached the spot and found the dead bodies.

The police said that the bodies were over three days old. As per primary assumption, the couple died on September 27. The bodies were handed over to the relatives after undergoing autopsy in Medical College Hospital.
