CHENGANNUR: 70-year-old Ratnamma has been a shattered mother since the day she lost her dear pet dog. The burden of the unbearable grief has also started taking its toll on her health.
Ishan, the one-year-old black pug, went missing three days ago from her house at Kulanada, Karakkadu in Chengannur. All their despearate search for the dog and advertisement given in newspapers have gone in vain. The dog went missing last Friday. She was seen last, playing on the front yard of the house.
Ishan was bought at a price of Rs 12,500, months ago. Ratnamma and her daughter Anju brought him up like a human kid. Whenever, they took him outside, they used to put a shirt on him.
“Whenever my mother was ill or had some bodily discomfort, Ishan used to sniff it out and stayed cuddled against her, Anju says.
The family members say that Ishan will not run away unless somebody takes him away. Even if he saunters out of their house compund, he would return soon.
“Ishan’s loss has almost crippled my mother’s life; now, she remains confined to bed most of the time. So, those who took him away please return. His presence is necessary for my mother to regain her health ,” requests Anju with teary eyes.
