IDUKKI: Just before moving from the position, four fake title deeds created for encroaching government land in Munnar were cancelled by Devikulam sub-collector Renu Raj.

Title deeds survey number 912 in Ikkanagar – LA 96/99, 94/99, 97/99 and 54/99 were cancelled on September 24. Renu Raj also directed the Tahsildar to take over land of about 2.5-acre as per the four title deeds.

The title deeds were allotted in 1999 by the then Devikulam Additional Tahsildar Raveendran. A petition was filed in the high court by a person named Binu Pappachan showing that Mariya Das encroached over two acres of government-owned land using fake title deeds here.
