THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: RSP leader Shibu Baby John released a copy of the statement given to the CBI by Mani C Kappan, who recently won the Pala by-polls as LDF candidate, against CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and his son Bineesh Kodiyeri on the issue related to Kannur Airport. Shibu exposed this through a Facebook post. He exposed the copy of Kappan’s statement hinting that Dinesh Menon, a Keralite and a resident of Mumbai, gave money to Kodiyeri and his son in securing the shares of Kannur Airport. Meantime, there is no doubt that the issue will be a headache for the CPM as the by-elections to five constituencies are nearing.

Dinesh Menon, an industrialist from Kerala had lodged a complaint to the CBI against Kappan grabbing 3.5 crore from him.

Kappan’s reply to CBI’s questions

I had introduced the then home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and his son to Dinesh Menon in connection with the shares of Kannur Airport. Only when Dinesh Menon told me about the payments I came to know about it.

Kappan had promised to speak to those involved in the matter.

Does Kappan, the LDF MLA stick to this statement given against Kodiyeri.
