HARIDWAR: In a shocking incident in Haridwar, seven women came up claiming to be the wife of a 40-year-old man on Sunday. The development has confused the police who have begun an investigation on the matter. The body of the man was cremated soon.

It was Pawan Kumar, a driver living at Ravidas Basti in Haridwar, who committed suicide by consuming poison. Though he was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state, doctors were not able to bring him back to life. Soon after hearing about his death, six women came up, each claiming to be his wife. The situation turned worse as each of the women had no idea about the other women. Initially, the police thought that the women must have made the claim in order to get hold of the deceased's assets. However, they were shocked to find out that Pawan had zero balance in his bank account and lived in a rented house.

According to the preliminary investigation report, Pawan was facing huge financial crisis. However, his wife, who lives with him, said that she had no idea about the financial issue.
