JAMMU: The Indian army has airdropped elite commandos in the Ganderbal forest region after reports suggested that militants were spotted in the region, sources said. The commandos have been airdropped in areas where road transport is practically impossible.
It is learnt that the commandos will be conducting a search across the entire forest region. As per sources, the militants, who might have crossed the LoC through the Gurez region, are attempting to move towards the Tral town in Southern Kashmir.
Earlier, the army had killed two militants in the Ganderbal region which marked the first confrontation in the area since 2014.
