KOZHIKODE: Shaju, husband of Jolly, accused in serial murders in Koodathayi, said that she may try to kill him. He said that he was not in love with Jolly and it was his first wife Sily’s brother who asked him to marry her. Jolly had been trying to get married soon after six months of his wife’s death. However, Shaju had told her that the marriage will take place only after a year. She had planned to marry me earlier itself and a proof of it was the last kiss given at the time of Sily’s funeral, he said.

Shaju said that he was not aware of her getting aborted. We both had gone together to meet a gynaecologist. The news that I had confessed to the crime is totally baseless and there was a lack of caution in her case. I didn’t know much about her high profile relationships and financial dealings, he said. The investigating team had taken Shaju into custody and questioned him for hours and released him on Monday evening.

More have to be questioned in the case. The statement of Jolly, arrested in the case has been recorded. The police has directed Shaju to inform them wherever he goes. Kozhikode Rural S P K G Simon said all the statements have been recorded and further steps will be taken after evaluating the statements.
