KOZHIKODE: The accused in Koodathayi serial killing, who had been sent to police custody, were on Friday morning, taken to Ponnamattam house and other places for collecting evidence.
The three accused in police custody are Jolly, who was sent to six-days’ police custody, jewellery staff Mathew and goldsmith Praju Kumar.
The main accused Jolly was first taken to Ponnamattam house for collecting evidence. The main aim of the investigation team is to find out the leftover portion of cyanide or the bottle in which the poison was stored.
The police may also take Jolly to Kozhikode NIT campus for collecting evidence.
From morning itself there were huge gatherings of people who awaited on the premises of Ponmattam house to catch a glimpse of the alleged serial killer. Considering huge protest and hooting from the public, police had placed the area under high security.
Till now, the case charged was the one related to the death of Jolly’s first husband Roy. But now, Thamarassery police have also filed a case over the death of Jolly’s second husband Shaju’s first wife Sili.
On Thursday, it became clear that controversial Advocate B A Aloor Jolly’s advocate. He said that the case against Jolly was forged and Jolly’s mental condition at the time of ‘committing murders’ should be examined.
Advocate Aloor said that Vakalathnama was given to him by some relative of Jolly in Kattappana.
Aloor Associate’s advocates Shafin and Hijas appeared fir Jolly in Thamarassery court on Thursday.
