KOZHIKODE: In a recent development, Jolly, the prime accused in Koodathayi murders, said that she didn’t poison Shaju’s daughter Alphine. Officials also said that Jolly has explained how she successfully poisoned other members of the family.

According to Jolly, Annamma, her mother-in-law, was murdered by mixing fertilizer in her food. While Tom Thomas and Shaju's first wife Sily were murdered by adding cyanide in vitamin capsules, Roy and Manchadiyil Mathew were administered cyanide by mixing it in alcohol. It is learnt that Alphine died after consuming poison which was mixed in her food.

Earlier, the police had taken Jolly and other two accused to various spots connected with the murders in order to collect evidence regarding the murder. It is learnt that the cyanide used for the murders has been recovered from the Ponnamattam house. Later the police also took the accused to Jolly's current husband Shaju's house, Manchadiyil Mathew's house and the dental clinic where Sily got murdered. Jolly was also taken to the beauty parlour and canteen near NIT for collecting evidence. However, it is learnt that the canteen staff hardly knew Jolly despite seeing her several times at the premises.

Police had also arranged tight security during the entire evidence collection process as several people had gathered to catch a glimpse of the accused. After collecting the evidence, officials further questioned Shaju and his father Zakariya. Meanwhile, Mathew, the second accused, has admitted that he had knowledge about all six murders.
