KOZHIKODE: In a crucial revelation, Jolly, the main accused in the Koodathayi serial murder case, confessed to the police that Roy Thomas, her first husband, knew about the murder of his mother and her mother-in-law Annamma Thomas.
Meantime, she told police that she had tried to murder Shaju’s wife Sily thrice. She revealed that on the third time, she gave her cyanide twice. She said she committed the murders by carrying cyanide in a small bottle.
The investigating team said Jolly tried to prevent opening of graves saying it may cause problems to the spirits. She tried to disrupt the probe by spreading such superstitions. Through this, she gained faith and tried to disrupt the probe, said rural SP K G Simon.
An expert team led by SP Divya S Gopinath will reach to conduct a probe in the case. The team will have forensic experts and doctors. After their inspection and reporting, a decision will be taken in sending the remains abroad.
The probe on the six deaths revealed that the accused Jolly Amma Joseph was leading a jolly good life, with booze, extra marital affairs and real estate deals. Her journey came to an abrupt end, just when she was planning to get married for the third time.
