THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a recent development, a video has surfaced putting Minister KT Jaleel on the defensive in relation to the 'mark donation' controversy in Mahatma Gandhi University. The video shows Jaleel's Private Secretary Dr Sharafuddeen participating in an adalat held at the university. Earlier, Minister Jaleel had claimed that his secretary soon returned after attending the inaugural function of the adalat. However, the video shows Sharafudeen communicating with various University officials and Higher education secretary, which proves that he had been there till the Adalat came to an end.
Meanwhile. Jaleel claimed that neither he nor his office members have made any effort regarding the 'mark donation' controversy. He also challenged opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala to come out with proofs against him. According to Chennithala, Jaleel's private secretary and additional private secretary had signed the minutes of the adalat. However, the minister denied this by saying that his private secretary has not signed any documents regarding the adalat. He further added that the adalats will be conducted every three months under the leadership of the University Vice Chancellors.
