THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Social Security Mission executive director Mohammed Asheel on Thursday asked social activist Firoz Kunnumparambil to present the details regarding the money he had collected in the name of charity works. Asheel also asked Firoz about the absence of a centralised account to carry out the transaction of money. The remarks were made through a Facebook video.

"In order to carry out the transaction of money from foreign sources, one needs to get a registration certificate from the union home ministry. I have received threats from various goons over the incident. While Firoze claims that a kidney transplantation surgery requires Rs.25 lakhs, Social Security Mission is ready to carry out the transplantation for just Rs 3 lakhs. I have not made any false accusations against Firoz. The questions raised by Firoz against me is actually directed against the government. I haven't bought any car or any other property using the government's fund. I have worked hard to reach here.

While Firoz said that he is planning to stop charity works, I believe it to be false as it was Firoz himself who has made more benefits than those who gave charity. Such a person will not stop charity works any time soon. He shouldn't be addressing himself as kind-hearted as there are many others in the society who truly deserve the title," Asheel said in the video.
