Director V A Shrikumar Menon said mimicry artiste Aby Kalabhavan Aby was scared that those who confined him would do the same thing to his son. Menon on a Facebook post expressed his support to Aby’s son Shane Nigam. Shane is one of the talented actors we have in the Malayalam film industry and asked everyone to be with him. He said this while reacting to the controversy between producer Joby George and Shane Nigam. The actor through a Facebook live had stated that he received a death threat from Joby. Shane had given a complaint to Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) on it.
The post said Shane Nigam is one of the talented actors we have in the Malayalam film industry. Yesterday’s live video was about the threat he faced. I felt like the youngster was crying. Shane is one who has no godfather. Shane had mentioned that he is facing such threats because he is the son of Aby. Why is the son of a person like Aby threatened? Those who know about Aby’s life know better; many have grabbed roles from Aby. Now, after his death when his son is getting a lot of acclaim, the credit naturally goes to Aby.
In Shane's video and in his complaint to AMMA, it is not death threat that has been raised. There is a threat to propagate something in the social media that would dismay Shane in society. It is a crime that has happened against him.
I am with Shane. Many are circulating voice clips against the young actor. He is being haunted by many. The film fraternity and society should be with him.
Aby had told me stories about being sidelined in the film industry. Aby was scared that his son too will have to face the same challenges. It was Aby who gave his voice for Amitabh Bachchan in my ad.
